The basic structure of ultrasonic cutting tool is ultrasonic transducer, horn, tool head (tool body) and driving power. The ultrasonic driving power supply converts the commercial power into high frequency and high voltage AC current, which is transmitted to the ultrasonic transducer. In fact, the ultrasonic transducer is equivalent to an energy converter, which can convert the input electrical energy into mechanical energy, namely ultrasonic. Its form is that the transducer moves back and forth in longitudinal direction. The frequency of the telescopic motion is equal to the frequency of the high frequency AC current supplied by the driving power supply. The function of the horn is to fix the whole ultrasonic vibration system and adjust the output amplitude of the transducer. On the one hand, the tool head amplifies the amplitude and focuses the ultrasonic wave. On the other hand, the ultrasonic energy is concentrated into the cutting part of the material to be cut by using the similar edge of the cutter. Under the action of huge ultrasonic energy, this part softens and melts instantly, and its strength decreases greatly. At this time, as long as a small cutting force is applied, the purpose of cutting can be achieved.
